SPRAVATO® COST & COVERAGE

Understand the questions behind your treatment cost

Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your benefits, the treatment center, and the services billed. Before starting SPRAVATO, ask for a written estimate that addresses both the medication and the visit. Use this guide to prepare that conversation; it does not provide a price quote or confirm coverage.

Clear questions. Practical preparation. A more informed conversation.

Ask about the whole visit

Ask your insurer which benefit covers the medication and which covers the visit or observation. Confirm whether the treatment center is in-network for your specific plan and how your deductible, copay, or coinsurance applies.

A drug benefit and a visit benefit may be handled differently. Record the representative’s answer and reference number so you can follow up on uncertainty.

  • Which benefit covers each service?
  • What might I owe before and after my deductible?
  • Does the estimate include every expected charge?

Separate clinical eligibility from insurance approval

SPRAVATO is a prescription esketamine nasal spray. Its approved uses include treatment-resistant depression in adults, either alone or with an oral antidepressant. A clinician must assess whether it is appropriate for you.

Ask whether prior authorization is required, what records are needed, and what dates or number of visits an authorization covers. If coverage is denied, request the explanation and ask about available next steps.

Check assistance-program terms directly

The manufacturer’s SPRAVATO withMe program provides information about coverage and affordability options. Savings and observation-support programs have separate eligibility requirements and limits.

Ask which costs a program addresses, which costs remain your responsibility, and whether your type of insurance is eligible. Use the current official terms rather than an advertised minimum payment to estimate your own bill. Enrollment or eligibility cannot be promised here.

Budget time and transportation, too

SPRAVATO is administered under healthcare supervision, with at least two hours of monitoring afterward and an assessment before discharge. It is restricted to certified healthcare settings under its REMS safety program and is not an at-home treatment.

Arrange transportation home. Do not drive or operate machinery until the following day after restful sleep. Ask the clinic how much time to reserve and discuss work, caregiving, and transport needs before treatment.

Important treatment-safety information

SPRAVATO can cause sedation, dissociation, breathing problems, and blood-pressure increases, and has abuse and misuse risks. Its boxed warning also addresses suicidal thoughts and behaviors with antidepressants. It is not approved for children. It has not been shown to prevent suicide and does not replace hospitalization when needed. Review the full prescribing information and Medication Guide with your clinician. Questions, answered

A few things you may be wondering.

General answers to common questions. Your clinician and care team can explain how they apply to your situation.

Can this page tell me my exact cost?

No. Ask the treatment center and insurer for an estimate specific to your benefits and planned services. Confirm what the estimate includes and whether any charges are separate.

Does accepting my insurance mean SPRAVATO is covered?

You still need to confirm this treatment’s benefits, the center’s network status, and any authorization requirements. Bring your exact plan information to that discussion.

Can I use manufacturer savings with any insurance?

Eligibility differs by coverage type and other program terms. Check the current official requirements and ask separately about medication costs and observation costs.

Can I take SPRAVATO at home to avoid visit costs?

No. SPRAVATO is restricted to certified healthcare settings under its REMS safety program. Discuss visit costs and practical barriers with the treatment center.
