Understand the time commitment
SPRAVATO visits include supervised administration and at least two hours of monitoring afterward, followed by an assessment of readiness to leave. Two hours is a minimum monitoring period, not a guaranteed door-to-door appointment length.
Ask how early to arrive, what the clinic needs before the visit, and how much flexibility to allow afterward. Ask about the proposed pattern of appointments without assuming that another patient’s schedule will be yours.

- Expected time at the center
- How schedule changes are communicated
Make a transportation plan
Arrange a ride home before treatment. The prescribing information says not to drive or operate machinery until the next day after restful sleep. Ask the center about its transportation and pickup requirements rather than assuming a particular ride arrangement will be acceptable.
Write down who will collect you, how they will know you are ready, and what backup arrangement you can make. Discuss any transportation difficulty with the center in advance. Ask your insurer whether a relevant transport benefit is available; do not assume it is included.
- Primary ride and contact number
- Pickup instructions to confirm with the center
- Backup plan if the ride becomes unavailable
Prepare the questions that belong with your clinician
Ask for the center’s preparation instructions, including any directions about eating, drinking, and your usual medicines. Do not change medication based on this worksheet. Bring questions about health conditions, other treatments, and any concerns about adverse effects to the clinical team.
Think through work, school, childcare, and other responsibilities on treatment days. Ask what restrictions apply and what support you may need. Discuss barriers before committing to a schedule.
Keep the full prescribing information and Medication Guide available to review with your clinician. SPRAVATO has serious risks and is not an at-home treatment. This planning guide cannot decide clinical eligibility or replace instructions from your treatment team.
